For grief which is according to the will of God, works repentance unto salvation; a repentance which brings no regret; but the grief of the world works death. 11. For behold, as to this very thing, namely, that ye were made to grieve according to the will of God; what great diligence my letter worked in yon 1 what self-defence 1 what indignation! what fear 1 what strong affection! what zeal! what infliction of punishment 1 In every thing ye have shown yourselves to be pure in this matter. 12.
