This author is fantastic in her writing style...so descriptive you immediately form visions in your mind. She is also "in our time" as these books are not written years and years ago but rather "now". Her novels are compelling reading to anyone interested in Tuscany, and Italy in general. Her first novel "A Thousand Days in Venice" is where she meets the love of her life "the stranger with the blueberry eyes". I purchased all of her writings and the cookbooks are authentic Italian cooking and delightful!

Rich flavor
The recipes are great, and the context de Blasi puts around everything makes the whole experience incredibly rich. I never had a cookbook I would just pick up and read as tho it were literature before.....
