This was the debut by this author. I'm looking forward to more. This work of historical fiction was set in Texas after the civil war. A young woman inherits a business as a seamstress. She is determined to be successful. A local livery owner seems to think her profession is not honorable, as it would promote vanity, envy or pride. It's interesting how he begins to see from Biblical examples, like Lydia, Dorcas, and the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 that it's possible to be well dressed, yet modest and godly. The romance between Hannah and Jericho is sweet, even how she teases him about his name. There is action and suspense. I really enjoyed this book. I can't describe it any other way but delightful.
