This is the second book in the life of a country veterinarian. He writes with warmth and humor of his animal and most importantly of his human friends. He spells his words as they would be pronounced in Alabama and I find myself speaking sourthern in my head as I read. I love this book and I would recommend reading his first book "Fields and Pastures New" to really get to know Dr McCormack and his cast of characters which he carries over into his other books. I'm now reading his third " Hero of the Herd".
