Despite the banishment of acoustic guitar from the studio, this album's warmth wraps you like a blanket, even as it contemplates madness, painkillers, paperboys, hairdressers, divorcees, and Roger Federer's backhand. Curiously, after a spate of recordings for Radio Khartoum, "Trojan Hearse" feels closer to "The Magic of..., " the band's late 80s, exotic-side-of-C86 LP for Cherry Red. 12 page illustrated booklet with lyrics and liner notes. Recommended if you like The Smiths, The Lucksmiths, recent Would-Be-Goods, John Barry, or Jake Thackray.
