This monograph was prepared to accompany the large scale retrospective exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil-Am-Rhein in 2000. Catalogue edited by Alexander von Vegesack. Exhibition curator Mathias Remmele. Verner Panton (1926-1998) lived and worked in Basel, which was close to the Vitra Museum, and when Vitra was opened Panton transferred many objects and drawings and papers to the Vitra Museum archive. The curators at Vitra worked closely with the Panton Office and especially Marianne Panton to provide the most comprehensive showing of Panton's vast output, including textiles.
