Es werden die Einwirkungen gemäß DIN-FB 100 für Bauwerke der Verkehrslastträger Straße, Bahn und Fußgänger dargestellt und durch Hintergrundinformationen anschaulich aufbereitet. Die neuen Anwendungsregeln nach DIN-FB 102 und DIN 1054 werden erläutert. Neu sind Ausführungen zum Spannbeton ohne Verbund sowie über Feste Fahrbahn und Besonderheiten für Eisenbahnbrücken. Zahlreiche Beispiele ergänzen die Erläuterungen. Über den Autor Professor Karl Heinz Holst lehrte an der Fachhochschule Lübeck. Dipl. -Ing. Ralph Holst ist im Bauwerksmanagement tätig. Das Buch ist für jemanden, der eine Brücke selbst entwerfen und konstruieren will, sehr hilfreich. Es beschäftigt sich mit den Lastannahmen für Straßen-und Eisenbahnbrücken, zeigt die Kriterien für die Wahl eines geeigneten Querschnittes auf, ebenso die Gestaltung in Längsrichtung. Das Buch gibt Hilfen zur Berechnung und Bemessung der Überbauten, sowie der Widerlager an einigen Beispielen. Ebenso werden Details, wie die Entwässerung, Kappen, Fahrbahnübergänge, Mittelunterstützungen usw. genau beschrieben und in einigen Zeichnungen dargestellt. Schade ist nur, daß die Berechnungen nicht nach EC2 gemacht wurden.
