Original brown cloth pictorial boards, 7.5 x 5.25 x 1.5 inches approx., some edge wear in the form of rubbing, spine is reasonable but shows wear to top and bottom of the spine, there is evidence that a previous owner has taken particular care to see that this book is properly looked after, slight fraying at the top of the spine towards the back hinge, the endpapers and spine may have been restored, closed page edges olivine, brown endpapers, probably rebacked, pale signature of a previous owner 'E Lucas' on the preliminary title page, black and white frontispiece 'Beric Faces the Lion in the Arena, ' the book includes 12 illustrations by W Parkinson all are present, pagination i-vi-383 pages followed by publishers advertisements1-32. The contents of this book are free from foxing and without marks. A very good clean and tight book. Highly collectable.
