The author brings to life a group of people living in a community; loving and hating each other for various reasons. This story takes place in England in the 1700's but could be happening today. We follow the Warden and his daughter living happily in the community until one man raises the question: "Does the Warden deserve to be paid so much to do so little?" And so the whole community is rent by controversary and things will never be the same.
