Very Inspiring Book
When I feel myself slipping towards complacency, this is one of the first books I pick up. The book follows the life and story of Keith Green, early Christian pop musician who went from drugged-out mystic to radical Christian and then to nationally-known musician.
The book is an easy and enjoyable read, full of pictures to help those of us who never knew Keith Green's work (such as myself). The writing quickly draws the reader in to the story. My only complaint is that Melody Green writes in such a way that Keith almost becomes "above human" as if "destined" to do all that he had accomplished. But he was just a normal guy like me, with normal struggles, normal doubts... He merely took all those normal parts and put them into Jesus' hands who then used them to do something greater than Keith could accomplish on his own.
Keith Green truly did live a life of "no compromise" when it came to surrender to Jesus, and it's clear that God loved and blessed him for that. My prayer is that each of us would live so faithfully and radically.
All told, this is a wonderful telling of a gifted and humble man who loved Jesus and people until the day he died.
