Very Good in Very Good jacket. 8vo. 402pp, errata slip at rear, glossary, appendices, bw ills, maps. Burgundy cloth in jacket. Some fading to spine, light foxing to page edges. The author had a distinguished career as a surgeon in Western Australia. By 1938 he had risen to command the 13th Field Ambulance, Western Command. At the outbreak of WWII he was commissioned to raise and train the 2/7th Australian Field Ambulance. He was mentioned in dispatches during the Western Desert campaign and awarded an OBE for his services in Greece and Crete. He was taken prisoner in Crete in 1941 and was one of only 6 medical Lt-Col's to be captured and sent to Germany.
