VG+ Signed by the Author SIGNED-Wrappers. Yellow spine and rear cover with author photo, yellow front cover with inset artwork are all clean and bright. Book has just a trace of rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the very tips of the outside corners. Spine has been very faintly lightened by sun-lettering is all clear and easy to read and the difference is subtle enough that it would likely go unnoticed by someone who wasn't looking for it. Signed and inscribed on the title page by the author in black pen: "Wilfred! / to teaching that / transforms-/ bell hooks." This book came from the collection of Wilfred D. Samuels, who was Associate Professor of English and Ethnic Studies and the former Director of the African American Studies program at the University of Utah. Binding is straight and tight. Previous owner has made some notes on the blank bottom half of the last page, but pages are otherwise clean, white, and crisp. 216 pages. Rare with the author's signature.
