VG+ in VG+ jacket. Octavo. Brown boards quarterbound in a burgundy colored backstrip with shiny copper foil lettering on the spine. Book has light bumping at the head and tail of the spine with a trace of accompanying rubbing at each extremity. Whtie endpapers. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 248 pages. Dust Jacket-has light rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the tips of the four outside corners. Just a trace of rubbing along the upper and lower edges. Single closed tear in teh upper edge of the front cover is about 1 1/4" long. 1/4" closed tear in the upper edge of the rear cover with a faint accompanying wrinkle. Couple rub marks on the rear edge of the spine about an inch north of the tail of the spine. Jacket colors still nice and bright. Original $15.95 price on the upper corner of the front inside flap. Attractive copy of one of Gary Paulsen's most highly revered books, now extremely uncommon in the first printing. Paulsen produced countless books for young readers and memoir of the Iditarod for adult readers called Winterdance, but is still probably most well known for his classic survival story, Hatchet.
