I am reading this book to my 10 year old grandson and he loves it. It's got so much more than the movie had. Try it and see.

a wonderful book for the adventurous at heart
I've read this book twice and each time is better than the next. Even though the movie is excellent and very well done the book is many times better with lots of different adventures than the movie. the characters are unique and awesome and I know that I will read this book many more times and enjoy throughout years to come . This is a realy realy realy realy great novel that will attract readers for generations to come.

Frightening fun
Forget the movie, the book is a thousand times better. A little heavy on the science in the begining chapters, but the novel quickly gains proper pacing. This is a great adventure novel. Blending Science and fantasy this is a truly original story that will delight readers for many years.
