Illustrated with b & w photos (most of them by Lamb), a few drawings and a map. Includes list of illustrations, family tree of Durrani dynasty, bibliography and index. This was Lamb's second extended experience of Afghanistan, this time to report on those (especially the women) who were trying to survive under the rule of the Taliban. Lamb is one of the best correspondent's and writers in the world today. Her books are fascinating to read and always thoroughly engaging. Nice copy.
