Zhengdao Ye is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics at The Australian National University (ANU), Canberra. She obtained her BA from the Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature, East China Normal University in Shanghai, and her MA and PhD in Linguistics from ANU. Her teaching and research interests encompass Chinese linguistics, semantics and typology, cognitive linguistics, the language of emotions, cross-cultural communication, culture and translation, translation across languages, and second language acquisition and usage. She has lectured extensively on these topics in Australia and overseas. She has been a guest speaker and lecturer at Aarhus University, Copenhagen Business School, Griffith University, La Sapienza University, La Trobe University, Le Centre de recherches linguistiques sur l'Asie orientale, Monash University, Roskilde University, Rouen Normandy University, Universidad Nacional Aut�noma de M�xico, University of New England, University of Strasbourg, and the Australian Linguistic Institute held at Macquarie University. She is the editor of The Semantics of Nouns (Oxford University Press, 2017), co-editor (with Cliff Goddard) of 'Happiness' and 'Pain' across Languages and Cultures (John Benjamins, 2016), and co-editor (with Helen Bromhead) of Meaning, Life and Culture: In Conversation with Anna Wierzbicka (ANU Press, 2020).
