Prof. Zafar Khan has Masters in English & History, and a Post graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language from Nagpur University, India. Prof. Zafar Khan has Masters in English & History, and a Post graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language from Nagpur University, India. He taught ESL and Linguistics in Indian and Nigerian universities. He is the Ex-Principal of Austin Peace Academy, TX USA. In 1982, he participated in a BBC Seminar on 'Contemporary Grammar of English`, chaired by Prof. Randolph Quirk, Vice-chancellor of London University. He also completed a Certificate course in Phonetics in U.K., taught by J.D. O`Connor, a renowned phonetician. He is former Editor-in-chief of the West African Journal of Language & Literature. He is also the author of A New Companion to the Study of English Language and Literature. His research papers on literature and applied linguistics, and poems have appeared in several international journals. He has trained thousands of TOEFL candidates in conversational English, and ESL / TEFL teachers, under the aegis of the British Council and the University Grants Commission of India. He has delivered key-note addresses at several seminars and international conferences. He is also on the Advisory Boards of several international journals of language and literature. See less
