Dr. M. Zafar Iqbal is a Professor of Accounting at California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. He holds CPA, CMA, CIA, and CCA certifications. Dr. Iqbal has served as a consultant to business organizations, not-for-profit organizations and the Federal Government. He was founding President of the Central Coast Chapter of The Institute of Management Accountants and also served as Chapter's Chairman of Board. Dr. Iqbal has received Certificate of Distinguished Service from the Institute of Management Accountants in 1994 and 1996 and Certificate of appreciation from the California Society of Certified Public Accountants in 1995. His international experience includes a two-year assignment in the Middle East during academic years 1996-98, where he served as Head of the Accounting Department at Sultan Qaboos University - The National University of Oman, and also traveled extensively in the region to collect data for a project funded by a research grant. Dr. Iqbal has published extensively in academic and professional journals including The Journal of Accountancy, Management Accounting, International Journal of Accounting and Accounting Research.
