Yaseen Assami

Yaseen Assami was born Perry Wesley Davis on November 12, 1948 in Knoxville, Tennessee. After high school he moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Here he met several of his long-time friends and Russell Atkins. He, subsequently, became a part of the Muntu Poets. His stay with the Muntu Poets was of short duration but his involvement was very influential and an important part of his development as a youth and a young expressionist writer.
