William J Schafer
Bill Schafer was, up to his death in 2009, professor of English at Berea College in Kentucky, where he held the Chester D. Tripp Chair in Humanities. He taught English and humanities courses there beginning in 1964. He has written extensively on African-American music, Appalachian and Southern literature, and modern American fiction for periodicals and reference works.
