Werenfried Van Straaten

Werenfried van Straaten (1913-2003) was a Dutch Catholic priest, preacher and fundraiser. During his life as a Norbertine expatriate in Germany, he became known for his dedication towards suffering Christians, particularly as founder of the international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need. He unashamedly called himself a "beggar for God".
