Wayland Skallagrimsson is a priest of Odin, a scientist, a writer, and an amateur martial artist. He has been involved in Northern Tradition religion for decades, and has been an actively practicing berserker for almost as long. He is the author of several books on the subject of Northern Religion, including Heathenry: A Study of Asatru in the Modern World . He is the author of the definitive scholarly work on modern practical somafera: Putting on the Wolf Skin: The Berserkgang and Other Forms of Somafera . A long and strange work history has seen him employed as a dock worker, a lifter of heavy things in warehouses, a cashier, a bodyguard, a security guard, a social worker, a corporate executive, a sailor, a sail, an artist, and a writer. He has spent several years walking the Earth, tracking down the remnants of lost tribes, exploring underground caves, climbing sacred mountains, searching for the lost lore of the ancients, and doing good deeds in quirky small towns and urban slums. Three time champion of the Shieldbiter's Cup berserker tournament, undefeated in the Broadsword League, and creator of the modern berserker initiation, Skallagrimsson now lives in seclusion, pursuing a hare-brained scheme to push the limits of the berserkergang past what even the ancients were capable of. Someday, if he succeeds and survives the experience, he may even write a book about it. See less
