Ward Cameron has spent many years in the Kananaskis. In 1983, he was hired as an Interpretive Naturalist. In 1986, he began helping in the management of the various information Centres within the boundaries of Kananaskis Country. He left the public service in 1989 to work as a freelance naturalist and historian, and since that time has spent an increasing amount of time showing groups the riches of the Kananaskis. His photographs routinely appear in Kananaskis Country brochures and posters. He has done extensive work as a photographer and author for Travel Alberta. In order to sell his photographs, Ward began writing magazine articles. This has now expanded into a growing writing business. For five years, he wrote a weekly natural and human history column for the Canmore Leader newspaper, and currently writes feature articles for a variety of magazines. He is the author of two other guidebooks on the Canadian west entitled: "Mountain Bike! The Canadian Rockies" and "Mountain Bike! Southwestern British Columbia". Ward has expanded his writing to the internet, and his web site: www.mountainnature.com is an online guide to the nature of the Rocky Mountains. See less
