Walter G Cowan

Cowan is a retired editor of the New Orleans States-Item. He began his career as a reporter on the old New Orleans Item. A graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College and the University of Missouri, he was also a vice-president of the Times-Picayune Publishing Corporation. After retiring, he taught journalism at the University of New Orleans.
