Vraja Kishor was discovered by Bhakti-Yoga ("The yoga of divine love") in 1989 as the unlikely result of his involvement in Punk Rock! He became formally initiated into Sri Caitanya's Rupanuga Bhakti-Sadhana in 1992 and personally learned the classical Sanskrit scriptures (Bhagavad-Gita, Bhagavata-Purana, Bhakti-Rasamrta-Sindhu, etc) from his kind guru. He is the author of several philosophical and devotional magazines and booklets that were important in the sub-cultural evolution in America via the "straight-edge punk" scene. Was a regular columnist in Back to Godhead magazine. He helped his guru write a book on Bhakti-Rasamrita-Sindhu. Currently he is writing prolifically and producing many books, including: 27 Stars 27 Gods: The Astrological Mythology of Ancient India. In 1997 he married Shyama Sakhi. They are raising three children. Since 2009 they live in South-West Japan and have a small, friendly, Krishna temple in their home, called the Ter Kadamba Mandir. He and his wife also record and distribute musical kirtan under that same name. See less
