Titus Coan
Titus Coan (1801-1882) was born in Connecticut and educated at East Guilford Academy. He graduated from Auburn Theological Seminary and received his ordination in 1833. He first traveled to the Argentine region of Patagonia for the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) and then, as missionary and explorer, he was part of the early colonization of Hawaii.
