Tina Levitan is one of the few American authors with books published in both Hebrew and English. Born in Boston, she received her early education there, attending the Boston Hebrew College Prozdor (High School), and was later graduated from Hunter College and the Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Seminary in New York. A trailblazer in a field where few women are encountered, she is the author of The Laureates: Jewish Winners of the Nobel Prize, Islands of Compassion: A History of the Jewish Hospitals of New York, the two volume Beolam Hechadash, written entirely in Hebrew, Jews in American Life: From 1492 to the Space Age, and Viewpoints on Science and Judaism.
