TIMOTHY J. O'LEARY, III is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 27 years of active duty and reserve service to his Country. Tim served a tour of duty in both Vietnam and the First Gulf War. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California where he earned a diploma in Italian Studies. TIMOTHY J. O'LEARY, III is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 27 years of active duty and reserve service to his Country. Tim served a tour of duty in both Vietnam and the First Gulf War. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California where he earned a diploma in Italian Studies. He is a helicopter pilot with 2,200 hours of flight time in UH-1 and OH-58 U.S. Army aircraft. During Operation Desert Storm he was a medevac pilot with the 217th Medical Battalion. His final tour of duty was that of Battalion Commander of the 286th Supply and Service Battalion. He has a B.A. Degree in French and Sociology, a Masters of Education Degree, and Educational Specialist Degree in School Administration and Supervision, all from Georgia Southern University. Tim was a Doctor of Education Degree Candidate in Educational Administration and Supervision at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He also has one year of Spanish Language training at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Tim taught foreign language and social studies in the Georgia public School System and was an Assistant Principal at a secondary school in Virginia. LTC OLeary has run 13 marathons to include Boston's 100th in 1996 and the Marine Corps in 1994. He has been a baseball and softball umpire for over 40 years and has officiated five Cal Ripken World Series. Tim recently umpired the Europe/Africa Regional Senior Softball Tournament in Holland. He played collegiate baseball at Georgia Southern University and semi-professional baseball in Turin, Italy and was a member of the championship team from West Berlin, Germany in 1970 who pitched the deciding game to win the USAREUR Championship. He also traveled with the semi-professional Continental Cavaliers Baseball Team that competed against South Arica's best in April 1971. Tim has three children and three grand-children.
