Tim Golden is a senior writer at "The New York Times" and a contributor to "The New York Times Magazine." He has been a Nieman Fellow at Harvard, a Schwartz Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation in Washington, and received the 2010 MacArthur Residency at Yaddo.
