TIBOR TOROK, (1921-2010) was born in Hungary, and immigrated with his family to the United States as child. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after he became a U.S. citizen, and participated in some of the most horrific battles of World War II (Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian & Roi-Namur), then went on to serve in the Korean War as well. After retiring in 1967 as a master sergeant, he became a radio communications and technical instructor for a defense contractor, working with Corsair and Crusader aircraft. The author passed away in October 2010, and befitting his service to his country, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. See less
