This is author T.M Jorden's second children's novel. The core life values are extremely important to the author and are behind writing of The Adventures of Poppy and Lord Ted book series. As a child he had a wonderful relationship with his grandparents and through them he learnt the important values of life. Now a grandfather himself, Tim hopes to spend more time with his grandchildren and teach them the same values he was taught through having fun and adventure as a family. His debut title - The Adventures of Poppy and Lord Ted: The First Summer received many five star reviews. As before, The Adventures of Poppy and Lord Ted: The Return of Saint Nick embraces family fun and adventure underpinned by the core values of love, honesty and respect. Tim lives in Derbyshire with his partner Rachel and Lord Ted. When he isn't writing you will find him embracing life by travelling around the world on his own adventures with Rachel.T.M Jorden created a character competition for his new book, The Adventures of Poppy and Lord Ted: The Return of Saint Nick. The winners and finalists were announced on BBC Radio. The competition, which closed on the 25th anniversary of World Book Day (2022), received hundreds of entries and the children's imaginations ran wild. There were two age group categories - KS1 and KS2. The lucky winner of each category has their character written into the story. All the finalists received a signed copy at the book launch. KS1 winner - Henry Walker Plowright with his character Tommy Rainbow who is a fairy that helps people when they are sad. Henry's wonderful, colourful picture and description really stood out for T.M Jorden. KS2 winner - Jessica Warren with her character Rosie. T.M Jorden immediately connected with the character of Rosie. Jessica's description about a happy 8 year old girl with a hidden talent who lives close to Poppy's Nanny and Grandpa meant he could instantly see how she can fit into the next story. T.M Jorden worked with Henry and Jessica to ensure their characters remained true to their vision while ensuring they added to the story. Our congratulations to everyone who took part, finalists, Henry and Jessica from all of us at Poppy and Lord Ted HQ.
