Susan Lamb came to Northern Arizona in 1983 to serve as the Desert View District ranger-naturalist at Grand Canyon National Park. While at Grand Canyon, Lamb was asked to write a book of essays about several other national parks. That led to a new life as a writer and more than two dozen books about nature, history, and native people of the past and present.
