Susan Branch is the author of thirteen (now fourteen, almost fifteen) books with over four million copies in print ~ all of them hand-written and watercolored, filled with quotes, recipes, tips, stories and personal mementoes. Susan's "Heart of the Home" books celebrate the home arts of cooking, gardening, homemaking, family, best friends, entertaining, and all the things that make life sweet.
Susan was born in Southern California, the oldest of eight children (which has been a huge inspiration for her life), and now lives with her husband Joe Hall in an 1849 home on the Massachusetts Island of Martha's Vineyard ~ which she refers to as her "heart magnet." Susan was drawn to New England since childhood and loved it before she ever saw it. She finally moved there in her early 30s, no longer "able to live without four seasons and white picket fences as everyday architecture." One of the most prolific artists working today, Susan has produced close to 3,000 pieces of original art that adorn everything from dish towels and teapots to calendars, books, and wrapping paper. Thousands of ardent fans, "Girlfriends," as she calls them, come in contact with her work every day through her popular blog at www.susanbranch.com.
