Stephen Woods is from Scottsville, KY. He graduated from Allen County Scottsville High in 1979 and went to Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina shortly after graduation. He reached the rank of Sergeant, then transferred to the US Army in 1987, volunteering for Special Forces in 1988. He served with the 5th Special Forces Group at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky until he retired from the Army in 1995. Stephen became a police officer with the Scottsville Police Dept. in 1995 and transferred to the Allen County Sheriff's Department in 1999. Promoted to Detective in 2000, he served in general investigations and as a member of the Allen County Drug Task Force and the Kentucky State Police Drug Task Force.
