Stephen Bolton was born in 1966 in the lush green suburbs of Auckland, New Zealand. The early part of his life was taken up with going to the beach, looking in the fridge, riding bikes, learning to swim, fighting with his brothers, eating pizza, mowing lawns and going to school.
