Stacey M. King is a historian, author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who has advocated for the Indigenous Banaban people for many decades. In 1989, she began researching her family's history for a historical novel based on their lives, Nakaa's Awakening: Land of Matang (Book One; 2000).In 1997, she formed a personal and collaborative partnership with the late Ken Raobeia Sigrah, a Ba-naban Clan historian and spokesperson. Their first published work, Te Rii Ni Banaba - backbone of Ba-naba (2001; 2019), is a history book written from an indigenous perspective and endorsed by Banaban Clan elders.With the establishment of Banaban Vision Publications, Stacey is converting much of their writings and research findings into digital publications. Since the passing of her beloved partner, Raobeia Ken Sigrah, she has been determined to continue his legacy in preserving Banaban history for future generations. See less
