He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, where he helped to establish that institution's first course for medical students on alternative medical treatments. Dr. Gerson received his formal training in Ayurvedic Medicine at the Ayurvedic College in Trivandrum, India and is currently in the Ph.D. program at the prestigious Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and the University of Poona.
