Sarah Ziegel trained as a nurse nearly four decades ago. She had to stop wage earning 'work' when her first babies, twins were born. She did some book editing and wrote health factsheets while her children slept. At nearly three, they received a diagnosis of non verbal autism and she has not been able to work since. Her next two babies born between a series of miscarriages were also boys. Her middle son regressed at just two, losing all language and was diagnosed with autism. Her youngest son, born when Sarah was 47 never spoke and was also diagnosed before the age of two with autism. With a huge amount of support the boys have thrived and are now all fully verbal and living lives she would never have imagined for them all those years ago. The oldest three are now young adults and all four boys live at home with Sarah and Jonathan. See less
