Ms. Sandra Andrews has suffered from the debilitating disease of Parkinson's for the last 12 years. The last 4 in its advanced stages. She had bilateral stimulation surgery on her brain. This experimental surgery recently was approved by the FDA in January of 2002. Ms. Sandra Andrews has suffered from the debilitating disease of Parkinson's for the last 12 years. The last 4 in its advanced stages. She had bilateral stimulation surgery on her brain. This experimental surgery recently was approved by the FDA in January of 2002. Ms. Andrews has a B.A. in Elementary Education and Spanish from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA and a Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in Curriculum and Guidance & Counseling. She also received a certificate from the University of Connecticut in Gifted Education. She is a national presenter at workshops and serves as a consultant for school and school districts. She is a curriculum specialist with national and state awards. She is recognized as a specialist in middle school education who has written a handbook on "How to Open a Middle School." She has published articles in education journals on various educational topics. Ms. Andrews has taught every grade level through college, has 8 years experience as an elementary school principal, 4 years experience as a Director of Curriculum for the Diocese of Erie and 3 years experience as a national math consultant. She designed a research project using the 24 Challenge Math Games that raised math standardized test scores and improved math skills.
