Ms. Sandra Andrews has suffered from the debilitating disease of Parkinson's for the last 12 years. The last 4 in its advanced stages. She had bilateral stimulation surgery on her brain. Ms. Sandra Andrews has suffered from the debilitating disease of Parkinson's for the last 12 years. The last 4 in its advanced stages. She had bilateral stimulation surgery on her brain. This experimental surgery recently was approved by the FDA in January of 2002. Ms. Andrews has a B.A. in Elementary Education and Spanish from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA and a Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in Curriculum and Guidance & Counseling. She also received a certificate from the University of Connecticut in Gifted Education. She is a national presenter at workshops and serves as a consultant for school and school districts. She is a curriculum specialist with national and state awards. She is recognized as a specialist in middle school education who has written a handbook on "How to Open a Middle School." She has published articles in education journals on various educational topics. Ms. Andrews has taught every grade level through college, has 8 years experience as an elementary school principal, 4 years experience as a Director of Curriculum for the Diocese of Erie and 3 years experience as a national math consultant. She designed a research project using the 24 Challenge Math Games that raised math standardized test scores and improved math skills.
