He introduced the art on a line of inspirational greeting cards and posters that drew the attention of Enesco, the powerhouse producer of collectibles and home decor accessories. The incredible success of the collectible figurines led to the popularity of other licensed products. Butcher's devotion to his faith and art led to the construction of the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Mo., which attracts nearly one million visitors a year. The father of seven children, and grandfather of 23, Butcher divides his time between his home on the chapel grounds, his residence near Chicago, and an overseas studio. See less
