Professor Ruth Landau taught social work and ethics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Recently, she has been included among the top 100 most impactful global contributors to social work journal scholarship. She has chaired the Hebrew University's Institutional Review Board for research involving people, was a member of the National Bioethics Council, and of the National Committee for deciding upon medications and technologies to be included in the national health basket. After retiring from the Hebrew University, she studied history. This book was written because of her personal interest as a daughter of Holocaust survivors from Slovakia and Hungary. See less
