After graduating from the University of Michigan, Russell T. Hitt began his long, distinguished career in journalism as a reporter for the Detroit Free Press . He later embarked on a journey that took him to China and Paris, where he worked for an international publication. While in his 30s, after rededicating his life to Christ, Hitt earned a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
