Russell Hoye , PhD is the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research Development and Director of Sport at La Trobe University, Australia, having previously served as Director of the Centre for Sport and Social Impact. His research interests are in corporate governance, public policy, volunteer management and the impact of sport on individuals and society. He has secured more than $3.5M AUD in research funding from the Australian Research Council and the Canadian Social Science and Humanities Research Council as well as contracted research and consulting projects for the Australian Sports Commission, Netball Australia, Bowls Australia, Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Victorian Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Victorian Casino and Gaming Authority, Northern Football League, Victorian Amateur Football Association, Melbourne Racing Club and many state sport organisations. He has published more than 50 refereed journal articles that have appeared in the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, International Review for the Sociology of Sport, International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics, Journal of the American Medical Association, British Journal of Management, Nonprofit Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and Public Management Review.
