Roger Pare
Roger Pare was born in Temiscamigue (Quebec) and now lives in Montreal. From 1958 to 1983, he was the illustrator for Service des Arts Graphiques of the Societe Radio-Canada, where he was assigned, in particular, to programs for children produced by the Youth Services. From 1958 to 1983, he was the illustrator for Service des Arts Graphiques of the Societe Radio-Canada, where he was assigned, in particular, to programs for children produced by the Youth Services. Since 1979, he has illustrated more than thirty works for children, many of which he has also written. His books, including L'Alphabet, have been translated in several languages and distributed throughout the world. In 1979, the Conseil des Arts of Canada awarded him the Premier Prix for the illustrations in his sketchbook Une fenetre dans ma tete and, in 1987, the Grand Prix in youth literature for L'Alphabet. In 1993 and 1994, UNICEF chose illustrations from his books for the production of puzzles and greeting cards. See less
