Robin Bloor, a distinguished writer, consultant, and blogger in the computer industry, was born in 1951 in Liverpool, UK. After obtaining a BSc in Mathematics at Nottingham University, he embarked on a successful career in the computer industry, initially as a software developer before progressing to a consultant, author, and blogger. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, in the USA, where he leads a group known as The Austin Gurdjieff Society. In 1988, Bloor met Rina Hands, a former associate of J.G. Bennett, a student of Peter Ouspensky, and later, a pupil of George Gurdjieff. Rina was an exceptional movements teacher and an inspirational group leader who led groups in London and Bradford, in conjunction with Rosemary Nott. Bloor became her pupil and was profoundly influenced by her teachings. Sadly, Rina passed away in 1994 and is buried next to Jane Heap in a cemetery in North London.Drawing from his extensive knowledge of the Work, Bloor leads The Austin Gurdjieff Society and produces a monthly newsletter, The Lost Herald. He also runs ToFathomTheGist.com, a website dedicated to exploring the teachings of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky. In addition, Bloor organizes online study groups to examine Gurdjieff's writings and Objective Science, as expounded by Ouspensky in "In Search of The Miraculous" and by Gurdjieff himself in "The Tales."Bloor is a prolific author who has written or edited eight books on the Work, including the present volume.
