Bob Lively is a certified pastoral counselor and an ordained Presbyterian minister. He is a regular newspaper columnist for the Austin American-Statesman . He is a native Texan from Dallas, with a baccalaureate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Bob is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. He is an award-winning short story writer and also has published eight nonfiction books. He is a frequent guest lecturer at churches and colleges in the Austin area. Bob served as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for thirty years. For thirteen years he was an adjunct member of the faculty of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Notable accomplishments during his inner-city ministry include the establishment of a soup kitchen for persons in need, a shelter for battered women, and an all-night shelter for persons without a home. Bob recently authored Waiting for Bluebonnets: Letters to My Daughter about God's Love a heartwarming insight into the ordinary life lived fully, but imperfectly.
