Rita Rhodes gained a degree and a PhD from the Open University. She has held educational posts at the Co-operative Union Ltd, the national Co-operative Development Agency and the International Co-operative Alliance and has undertaken a number of co-operative assignments in Malaysia, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Mongolia for the International Labour Organisation and the European Union.
