Richard Exner

Exner was born in Germany and attended the humanistic gymnasium in Darmstadt. In 1950 he immigrated to the United States. He received his AB in Comparative Literature and PhD in German Literature from the University of California-Los Angeles. He retired from teaching college and returned to Germany in 1992. He lives in both Berlin and Santa Barbara, California.
