Riccardo Groppo

Riccardo Groppo took his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico of Torino (Torino, Italy). He started his career at Honeywell (1987), as a HW designer for workstation and mini-computer. Riccardo Groppo took his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico of Torino (Torino, Italy). He started his career at Honeywell (1987), as a HW designer for workstation and mini-computer. He worked at Centro Ricerche FIAT (CRF) for almost 25 years, starting as a HW designer (1989) and then being the Head of the Automotive Electronics Design and Development Dept. (2002-2013). He has been directly involved in the industrial development of several breakthrough innovations in the powertrain (e.g. Common Rail, MultiAir, Dry Dual Clutch) in cooperation with the most relevant automotive suppliers and semiconductor manufacturers. He is the co-founder and CEO of Ideas & Motion (2013) and holds 29 patents in the eld of automotive electronics and smart systems, most of which are currently in mass production on passenger cars. He is the Chairman of the "Transportation" Working Group within EPoSS and member of the European Advisory Council of the SAE International. See less
