Susan Steinberg has a BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The End of Free Love was a finalist for the 2000 Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction and the 2001 Sandstone Prize, and Quarterly West nominated one of her stories for a 2000 Pushcart Prize.
